Established in 2009, Orange Bay Company is the realization of the vision of proprietors Rudy and Delight Morris to bring a very special shopping experience to Bermuda. Part of the company’s mission is to create a better living for everyone in the community by giving to local organizations that help make life a little easier for those in need.
When you donate items to Orange Bay Company, part-proceeds from their sale are donated to Bermudian charities. A portion of our annual profits is also donated to local charities.
Among the charities and organizations that Orange Bay Company has supported financially and through donations in kind are the Bermuda Housing Corporation, the Bermuda National Trust, the Salvation Army, the Sunshine League, Teen Haven, the SPCA, The Reading Clinic and the Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation.
On occasion, we have quality items of clothing and furniture that don’t sell within their consignment windows. When the original owners aren’t interested in reclaiming those items, Orange Bay Company donates them directly to individuals and organizations in need, or to local thrift shops whose profits support local charities.
Large furniture items are sent directly to the Bermuda Housing Corporation, which uses them to furnish their clients’ homes in emergency situations. Smaller home decor items are provided to the Second Hand Rose thrift shop in St. George’s, whose earnings support the St. George’s Foundation and the World Heritage Centre in the Old Towne. Unsold clothing is similarly donated to the Dress For Success shop in St. George’s, supporting the efforts of Bermuda’s Red Cross Upstairs Closet.
